Four new individuals have been elected to representative positions for the Race to the Top Executive Committee. The new Executive Committee members are: Hamdi Abdulle, Executive Director, Somali Youth & Family Club (entire Road Map Region); Cindy Lewis, Past President, Tukwila Education Association; Sue McCabe, President, Highline Education Association; and Ann Minckler, Assistant Director, Grants & Special Projects, Kent School District. The U.S. Department of Education has released a brief that highlights the work of the Road Map Region Race to the Top-District grant, with special focus on Leading Indicators. “Ahead of the Curve: How Race to the Top-District Grantees Use Leading Indicators to Promote, Support, & Sustain Personalized Learning”, builds on a three-part webinar series on the use of leading indicators to support personalized learning initiatives. Race to the Top-District (RTT-D) grantee examples are highlighted to demonstrate ways districts can effectively use leading indicators to monitor and measure progress toward their personalized learning outcomes at the student, educator, and system levels. On September 29, PSESD submitted the Road Map Region Race to the Top Grant Annual Performance Report to the U.S. Department of Education.
